Strongbox"Strongbox Database Management Ltd commissioned EAB in 2002 to set up the infrastructure to develop and implement the EnergySure register of energy sales personnel on behalf of the energy supply industry. EAB specified and implemented a dedicated server based solution, which, over the years has proven to be reliable and cost-effective. The system is based on Open Source (Linux operating system, MySQL database) and consists of an online database of energy salesmen detailing their employment history and industry status. The database is used by all of the major energy suppliers to interrogate potential employees and to drive up industry standards. Says Jeremy Thomas (Strongbox's CEO): "We are delighted with the solution that EAB implemented. We have been able to run the service in a cost-effective manner and without unplanned downtime, as EAB remotely maintain the systems. We are also delighted that the service that we provide is regularly and successfully audited by a major international auditing firm, evidence of the quality of the underlying technical infrastructure". St Albans District CouncilEAB has been supplying Internet Services to the Council for over ten years. At the heart of their IT infrastructure are a number of servers hosted both locally and remotely, firewalls, access management systems and other technologies. These have been commissioned, installed and maintained by EAB. This technical infrastructure meets the Council's internal requirements for enabling all staff to access managed web and email services and also provides for delivery of the Council's services over the web (e-government). Says Michael Scully, Communication Services Manager: "Over the last ten years EAB have been able to meet our increasing requirements for Internet services. EAB's involvement with the Council has grown from a simple web design requirement ten years ago to today's complex web and technical infrastructure. They have repeatedly demonstrated over the years that their cost-effective and reliable Open Source platform for the delivery of internet services can co-exist and integrate with other proprietary systems to deliver the Council’s online services to the public as well as enabling the Council's staff to make use of modern web-based technologies." |
